80 blocks from Tiffanys

Documentary on the Savage Nomads gang from the early seventies, this is exactly how I remember my first visit to New York in the summer of 1979. driving through the streets of the Bronx and Manhattan in my cousins beaten up van or my uncles old Lincoln town car, just staring out the window at all these colourful characters and broken down neighbourhoods. My mum and aunt bought me my first real pair of trainers black suede keds,(like Puma states) complete with packs of knee high white with stripe tube socks. To young to be intimidated or see how shit it must of been for the people living there. It felt like passing through a movie set to me, and it made a lasting impression to this day…..
